Death of woman in Noorbagh: family stages protest

Srinagar: Family members and relatives of a woman who was allegedly killed by her brother-in-law’s son at Pamposh Colony, Noorbagh on Sunday last, today staged a protest here to seek “death penalty” to the accused.

Pertinently, one Mymoona, who was married in Noorbagh area in the city two years ago, was hacked to death with an axe on Sunday last. The deceased, according to her family, had a baby girl.

Shouting slogans, protesters carrying placards appeared at Press Enclave here this evening and staged a protest demanding capital punishment to the accused.

The protesters said they want the murderer to be executed and his mother also arrested “for being actively involved in the murder” of Mymoona. They alleged it was the mother of the accused who provoked her son to kill the deceased with an axe.
