Migrant labourer killed, another injured in Budgam

Srinagar: Two non-local labourers were shot at and injured by militants in Budgam district of central Kashmir on Thursday night, officials said.

While one received a gunshot wound in his shoulder the other was hit in the palm at Bapora in Zudur area of Budgam.

The two have been identified as Dilkash and Guri.

Dilkush, reports said, later succumbed to injuries.

Police have cordoned off the area and are looking for the militants involved in the incident which took place at 9.10 PM, officials said.

They said the injured labourers were rushed to a hospital, from where they were referred to SMHS Hospital here where one succumbed to injuries.

Medical Superintendent of SMHS Hospital Dr. Kanwaljeet Singh confirmed the death of one of the injured. The slain was working as a labourer at a brick kiln, reports said.
