ACB chargesheets former Forester in disproportionate assets case
Srinagar: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday said that it has produced a chargesheet against a former Forester, Soil Conservation department in disproportionate assets case registered against him some four years ago.
According to an official handout, ACB Srinagar said it produced chargesheet in a case registered in November 2017 against one Bashir Ahmad Shah, son of Late Wali Mohammad Shah of Garoora Bandipora, presently residing at Zubairabad Sujwan Jammu, and Housing Colony, Bagh-e-Mehtab, Srinagar.
ACB said that a verification conducted by it has revealed that Bashir Ahmad Shah, then Forester, who later went on to become and retire s-from service as Zonal Soil Conservation Officer (Soil Conservation department J&K), has amassed huge wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
“On the strength of facts and circumstances, together with cogent and clinching evidence, the investigation has established the commission of offences under section 5(1) (e) r/w 5(2) P C Act. Svt.2006 are made out against the said public servant Bashir Ahmad Shah. The accused public servant has retired on superannuation on 03.01.2019, as such the necessary sanction for launching of prosecution was required,” the statement said, adding that next date of hearing is fixed on October 18, 2021.
