Mission Director inaugurates first-ever Children cum Shelter Home for north Kashmir

BARAMULLA: In a significant move to ensure the care and protection of distressed children especially those in conflict with law, Mission Director ICPS Shabnam Shah Kamili today inaugurated the first-ever Children cum Shelter Home for North Kashmir at Kanispora during her visit to district Baramulla.

Speaking at the event, the Mission Director highlighted the role of the Government towards Child Protection Services besides reaching out to children that are in need of care and protection.

She emphasized upon the concerned to work in coordination and cohesion so that such children are secured form different types of abuses adding that several measures are being taken to ensure the rehabilitation of these children.

District Child Protection Officer, said that establishing such child care homes will cater to the needs of orphans and distressed Children that are in need of care and protection. He also enlisted various initiatives that have been taken on the part of district administration in this regard.

During the visit, the Mission Director was accompanied by Principal Magistrate Juvenile Justice Board Mohammad Iqbal Akhoon, Joint Director Planning Baramulla M.Y Rather, Chairman Child Welfare Committee and District Child Protection Officer besides other concerned.
