DDC reviews ongoing macadamisation work in Baramulla

BARAMULLA, JULY 03: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the pace and position of ongoing macadamisation process, being carried out in the district.

Meeting was attended by SE R&B, Ghulam Mohi-u-din Akhoon, SE PMGSY, R.L Angorana Executive Engineers, Beacon authorities and various other concerned officers.

On the occasion, a comprehensive discussion on the subject was held during which DDC was informed about the current situation of macadamisation process that is being carried out in the district. He was informed that R&B department has macadamised 68 kms out of the target of 223 kms under various schemes and flagship programmes in 4 R&B Sub divisions of Baramulla district. SE PMGSY informed that out of the target of 131 kms, about 10 kms has been macadamised. He also informed that PMGSY has taken about 11.36 kms of roads for Grade-I construction and repair.

Dr Itoo directed completing the process within stipulated time period for which he issued necessary directions to the concerned agencies. He stressed for using qualitative material in the process so that roads are maintained in good condition for a longer time.

Meanwhile, various issues and constraints hampering the smooth execution of the process were also discussed wherein DDC assured that all the bottlenecks shall be resolved in a time bound manner.
