  Inter-School U-19 athletic meet takes off

 UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 04- Two day District Level Inter-School under-19 Boys athletic meet commences at Subash Stadium, here today.

The meet is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the supervision of Sudesh Kumar, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Udhampur who declared the athletic meet open.

About 121 boys drawn from different Government as well as Private institutions of district are participating in the meet.

Vishav Dev Singh of HSS Boys Udhampur clinched 1st, while Mohammad Jafeed of HSS Garhi stood 2nd in High Jump. In Long Jump, Sunil Kumar of HSS Ramnagar and Sahil Sharma, of HSS Marta bagged first and second postions respectively.

In Triple Jump, Vidwan Singh of HSS Marta and Rajeev Singh of APS Udhampur clinched first and second positions respectively. In Shot Put Ashiq Hussain of HSS Boys Udhampur and Sandeep Singh of HSS Barolla bagged first and second positions respectively, while Ashiq Hussain of HSS Boys Udhampur and Sahil Sharma of HSS Marta were adjudged first and second in Discus Throw. In Javelin Throw, Sahil Sharma of HSS Marta and Saleem Mohammad of HSS Boys Udhampur clinched first and second positions respectively.

The matches were officiated by officials of Youth Services and Sports Department Udhampur.

Among others present were Zonal Physical Education Officer Panchari, Pawan Kumar Sharma, Zonal Physical Education Officer Udhampur, Santosh Kumari, Zonal Physical Education Officer Jib, Poonam Sharma.
