2 LeT OGWs arrested in Sopore: Police
Baramulla, Jul 21: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two over-ground workers of Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police spokesman said huge cache of ammunition was recovered from their possession.
He said two residents of Brath Kalan Sopore were arrested from Dangerpora area after police and the armed forces acted on “credible inputs”.
The duo was identified as Tanveer Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Qayoom Mir, and Tanveer Ahmad Najar, son of Ghulam Hassan Najar.
“One UBGL grenade, a magazine with 15 rounds of AK-47 and two matrix sheets were recovered from their possession,” he said.
“In this regard, a case FIR no. 203/2018 under section 7/25 Arms Act, 13 ULA Act has been registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation taken up.”
