First issue of ‘JK Journal of Architecture and Engineering Sciences’ released by Higher Education Department

Jammu , 28 April : Principal Secretary, Higher Education Deptt. Dr.Asgar Hassan Samoon released the first issue of quarterly research journal “JK Journal of Architecture and Engineering Sciences” at GCET, Jammu today.

He was accompanied by Principal GCET, Dr. Sameru Sharma, Principal Govt. MAM College, Dr. Ramesh Chander, and Chief Architect, Architect Organisation (J&K) Ar. V.K. Pant.

Highlighting the importance of research in technical institutions, Dr Samoon said that the Journal is envisioned to be instrumental in promoting collaborative research between academia and field professionals, and also facilitate the setting up of joint R&D institutions which would ultimately lead to the efficient and effective implementation of different schemes in J&K State.

He also interacted with faculty and students of Architecture and Engineering Colleges providing them many useful insights in the field of technology.

Apprising the gathering about the key features of this journal, the Principal GCET said that JK Journal of Architecture and Engineering is a quarterly research journal which shall provide an intellectual platform to the teachers, scholars and students of Architecture and Engineering to explore the universe of technological advancements through intensive research, discussions and debate.

It was also given out that the papers published in the current issue have been peer reviewed and will be made accessible online globally to all on the Higher Education Website. Subsequently, the platform will be made open on a wider scale to technocrats, researchers and academicians across the country and also to the eminent alumni of the Technical Institutions of the State.
