Mohandai Oswal Hospital conducts CME on cancer care in Jammu

Jammu: Mohandai Oswal Hospital on Saturday organised a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme in Jammu, bringing together doctors and specialists for discussions on recent advances in cancer treatment.

The programme was held at Radisson Blu Hotel and was attended by healthcare professionals from across the region.

The first session of the CME was delivered by Dr. Harpreet Singh, Senior Consultant and Head, Department of Radiation Oncology, who spoke on “Tomotherapy – A New Tool in Radiation Treatment”.

During his presentation, Dr. Singh highlighted the role of tomotherapy in precision-based cancer treatment and discussed its growing importance in modern oncology.

The second session was presented by Dr. Vikramjit Singh, Consultant, ENT and Head and Neck Surgery. He spoke on “Overview on Head and Neck Cancer in India”.

Dr. Vikramjit Singh discussed the increasing incidence of head and neck cancer in the country and stressed the importance of early diagnosis and multidisciplinary treatment.

The programme also featured an interactive session in which participants exchanged views on emerging trends and challenges in cancer care.

Senior leadership from Government Medical College and Hospital, including the Principal and Medical Superintendent, attended the event.

Senior Vice President of Mohandai Oswal Hospital, Dr. Prabhjot Singh, was also present and appreciated the initiative.

Among the doctors who attended the programme were Dr. Madhu Khullar, Dr. Jasbir Singh, Dr. Rakesh Khajuroa, Dr. Meenu Gupta, Dr. Deepak Abrol, Dr. Sunny, Dr. Gautam Goel, Dr. Virender Trisal, Dr. Mehak, Dr. Bhel, Dr. Dandeep Singh, Dr. Hitesh, Dr. Harshad and Dr. Virender.

Hospital authorities said the CME served as a platform for knowledge-sharing and professional interaction among medical practitioners.

The programme concluded with a networking session.

Mohandai Oswal Hospital said it would continue to organise such academic programmes to promote medical education and improve patient care.
