Srinagar: JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik has condemned the prolonged incarceration of JKLF zonal president, Noor Muhammad Kalwal who, according to a press release issued here, is lodged at police station Kothibagah from past several days.

Kanwal was today again presented before court which extended his remand for five more days and was shifted to Police Station Kothibagh, the press release added.

Malik, while condemning the spree of arrests, nocturnal raids, slapping of PSA on political activists and other “oppressive tactics” of police said that during recent days “an ugly upsurge was seen in these undemocratic acts which is highly condemnable”.

He alleged that police had declared a “war on peaceful activists and resistance camp and young boys are being pushed to the wall, which is an act of promoting violence in Kashmir.”

JKLF chairman has expressed grief over the demise of the wife of Tehreek-i-Hurriyat leader Ghulam Mohammad Safi.
