Jammu, May 22: Former Member Legislative Council and Chief Spokesperson PCC Ravinder Sharma has urged the Governor’s administration to appropriately recognize, reward the brave young girls and other locals who rescued a family from drowning in river Chenab at Reasi, when their boat capsized, yesterday.

In a statement issued here, while highly appreciating the act of bravery of some young girls and local people for saving several precious lives of a family from Utter Pradesh, Sharma congratulated all of them. “They have done a great job and set an example by saving lives of others while risking their own lives,” he said.

“The act of bravery of all those involved in saving lives especially young girls needs to be recognized, rewarded and awarded appropriately to act as a source of inspiration encouragement. He also urged the government to consider their adjustment for government jobs under sports category in relaxation of norms if any, Sharma urged in a communication to the state Governor,” reads the statement.

“He also appreciated the local police administration for encouraging these young girls and others yesterday at their own level but felt the need to do more for them by the government to encourage the sprit amongst the youth,” it added.
