DC Kargil takes stock of Shab-i-Qadr, Matyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali (A.S), Jumat-ul-Vida arrangements

KARGIL, MAY 22: Deputy Commissioner Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary today took stock of the arrangements being put in place by the District Administration for the ensuing Shab-i-Qadr, Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali (A.S) Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr.

Superintendent of Police Kargil, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Additional Superintendent of Police Kargil, representatives of Islamia School Kargil, Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust Kargil and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat Kargil besides other concerned district officers were present in the meeting.

The DC directed the officers to ensure all necessary arrangements for the religious events well in time so that the people do not face any inconvenience.

The officers were directed to work in close coordination and cooperation with the representatives of the religious organizations for putting in place timely arrangements and defining the routes for the religious congregations so that the religious events are organized in a smooth and hassle free manner.

Issues with regard to the provision of drinking water, power, medicare, sanitation, ration, better traffic management and other requirements came up for thorough discussion.

The concerned officers were directed to put in place proper sanitation mechanism and medical facilities around the locations where religious congregations take place.

The DC also directed the officers of PHE, PDD and FCS&CA to ensure an adequate supply of LPG, rice, flour and other essential commodities besides ensuring that people get uninterrupted power and drinking water supply during the ensuing religious days.

The market checking squads were also directed to intensify the checking to curb illegal profiteering and selling of low quality food items and take strict action against the culprits on the spot.

Meanwhile, to address public issues and grievances during the ensuing religious events, a Control Room with telephone number 01985-232818 and 01985-232263 has also been set up by the District Administration.
