Poonch: Miscreants overnight damaged three shops and two vehicles at Mendhar town of Poonch district following which authorities ordered restrictions under section 144 CrpC, banning assembly of four than five persons in the town.

Official sources told news agency GNS that of the one shops and one vehicle were fully damaged while others were partially damaged.

SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Paddar, SHO Anayat Ahmad among other officers rushed to spot soon after getting the news and called up firefighters who doused off the flames and restricted the damage.

SDPO Medhar Neeraj Padder told GNS that some miscreants set the shops and vehicles on fire and investigations have been launched in this regard.

“We have registered an FIR and those behind it will be soon brought to book,” the officer added.

Officials have also imposed restrictions under section 144 of CrPC to prevent assembly of five persons at a time in the town.
