Malik said that Kashmir has witnessed worst ever period of atrocities ever since BJP came to power in 2014.

“He (Modi) is coming to handover another power project running on our resources to NHPC and to deprive us further from using our water resources for our welfare. A person who is using every means to hurt and harm us deserves only a protest and resentment from us and I appeal every Kashmiri to observe a complete shutdown as announced by JRL,” Malik said.

He also castigated National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for what he termed shedding “crocodile tears” against the brutality meted out to the people of Kashmir to garner votes in upcoming Assembly elections.

“Didn’t Mehbooba Mufti who nowadays goes door to door to appease people during a press conference with India’s Home Minister boast that children who were killed during 2016 uprising had not gone to get milk and candies?” he added.

Malik said when he along with some other separatist leaders was lodged in Tihar jail in 1999 NC President; Dr Farooq Abdullah said that he will make the separatist leaders to rot in Tihar Jail.

Without naming Shah Faesal who recently resigned from India’s elite service to join politics said a new trend has emerged to strengthen the roots of India in Kashmir.

“Now people resign from jobs and join politics and tell people that they will fight for the freedom of Kashmir,” he said.

He also targeted Abdul Qayoom Wani, EJAC Chairman, saying, “Today another government employee has resigned to join politics which is nothing but a trend to strengthen roots of India in Kashmir,” Malik said.

It may be in place to mention Abdul Qayoom Wani who heads his faction of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has decided to seek voluntary retirement from government service and is joining PDP.

Terming the elections as a drama being enacted by regional political parties to mollify New Delhi, JKLF leader said people who queue in lines on the day of polling should understand what Kashmir has achieved by elections.
