Delegation of Sarpanchs from Turtuk, Paddar meet Governor

JAMMU, JANUARY 19: A delegation of Sarpanchs from Turtuk (Nobra) area led by Ghulam Hussain, Social Activist, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.

The delegation expressed their gratitude for the free, fair and peaceful conduct of  Panchayat elections in the State and appealed for strengthening of  the Panchayati Raj framework in the State.

The delegation  projected a charter of demands which include financial package for the overall development of Turtuk area, opening of Turtuk- Khapulu road across border,  construction of Turtuk-Hanu road, carving out of an Assembly seat for Turtuk area, opening of Degree College in Turtuk, authorization  of ALC certificate to people living in Turtuk area, up-gradation of Primary Health Centre and Government Middle School, Bogdang, sanctioning of block status to Bogdang and sanctioning of Girls Higher Secondary School for village Bogdang.

Governor observed that the demands would be looked into and due consideration would be given  for their early redressal. Mohammad Salman, Sarpanch Turtuk Farool; Inayatullah, Sarpanch Turtuk Youl;  Mohammad Mossa, Sarpanch Bogdang; Mohammad Ibraham, Chairman, Tyakshi Nobra; Abdul Qadir President Bolti Student Association, Ladakh were the part of the delegation.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Sarpanchs from Paddar area of Kishtwar District led by Sunil Sharma, former Minister and Ex-MLA, met Governor Satya Pal Malik.

The delegation expressed their gratitude to Governor for sanctioning of Degree College and deployment of doctors in the health institutions of the area.  The delegation projected a charter of demands which include release of payments pending under MGNREGA, construction of Panchayat Ghars, deployment of teachers in educational institutions of the area, sanctioning of solar lights, according sanction to the posts for the newly sanctioned local Sub District Hospital,  up-gradation of local High School and taking up into hand some projects under  Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) in the area.

Assuring the delegation for giving due consideration to their demands for their early redressal, Governor also urged Sunil Sharma to continue his endeavours for promoting public welfare and development of his area.
