Budgam, Jan 06: Alleging that Power Development Department (PDD) Budgam has forgotten them, the residents of Khag area here complained that they are getting insufficient electricity from the past two months.

Villagers told Kashmir Images that far-flung Sitharan, Drang, Habar, Lasipora, Batpora, Kangripora, Chill, Brass, Zoogu, Kharien and Ringizabal are being provided power supply only for few hours in a day and some among these villages get it for three-four hours in a week.

“We get electricity for three-four hours in seven days of the week and that too is playing hide and seek,” said Mohammad Ibrahim, a resident of Sitharan. “Nobody listens to our pleas.”

Locals said that PDD is not following any curtailment schedule which is plunging them into darkness.

“We aren’t demanding 24 hour electricity, but at least we should be given power supply as per the schedule,” they demanded.

Meanwhile, Executive Engineer PDD Budgam, Nasrullah Jan could not be contacted for his comment.
