JAMMU, DECEMBER 20: Advisor to Governor Khurshid Ahmed Ganai today called for revival of radio listening as it acts as a catalyst for preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.

He was addressing audience here at a musical event organized by Radio Shardha, an outfit of Pir Panchal Organization.

Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta, Secretary JKAACL Dr. Aziz Hajini, Ex MLC Vijay Bakaya, Retd Session Judge B L Saraf, President Pir Panchal and Director Radio Sharda 90.4 FM Ramesh Hangloo were also present on the occasion.

Describing Radio as a potential and effective medium of information and communication, Ganai said in today’s globalized and blended world, Radio helps people across the world to communicate regardless of boundaries and geographic limitations.

Khurshid Ganai praised Radio Sharda for its contribution in promoting and preserving rich Kashmiri culture and language in the State.

He urged the Kashmiri community, especially youth to continue to uphold the Kashmiri ethos the way they have been doing till this time. He assured every support from government for the welfare and well being of the community and enabling them to preserve their culture and traditions where ever they live.

Advisor Ganai appreciated the performances of artists during the musical event featuring singing, dancing and skits which threw light on rich Kashmiri Culture and tradition.

Earlier, the Advisor alongwith other dignitaries gave away awards to the persons who were and are associated with Radio Shardha.

Earlier, Ramesh Hangloo presented a welcome address and thanked all the awardees who contributed in making Radio Sharda popular in the state
