Various JKLF leaders also addressed the protesters and delivered a message from ailing chairman of JKLF to them.

In his message JKLF chairman while condemning the oppression has said that police and other forces have choked every little space of peaceful political activities in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, on the direction of All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat leaders and activists organized a candle light protests at Budgam and Magam respectively against human rights abuses, a spokesman of Hurriyat G said in a statement issued here today.

The spokesman said that the protest was taken out as per the JRL week long program on the eve of upcoming World Human Rights day (10 December) to protest against the unabated human rights violations.

“Hurriyat leaders said that the authorities were desperately trying to hide gross human rights abuses by not even allowing the candle and torch protests,” said the spokesman.

“We again reiterated our appeal to international community and all human rights organizations to take a serious note of such brazen aggression on unarmed and defenseless Kashmiries and to make progressive efforts, rather than occasional condemnation, for the resolution of this long standing dispute as promised by the UN through its UNSC resolutions,” spokesman quoted the leaders as saying.
