Srinagar, December 3: Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers (ReT’s) on Monday again hit streets to protest government’s delay in implementing 7th pay commission and delinking of their salaries with state sector.

Shouting anti administration slogans, hundreds of ReT’s under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (JKReTF) assembled at Lal Chowk this afternoon and staged protest against delay in implementing 7th pay commission in their favor.

The protesting ReT’s claimed that Governor’s Advisor, Khursheed Ahmad Ganai had in August this year announced 7th pay commission in their favour; however the announcement is yet to be translated into reality.

“This is a practical joke with hundreds of ReT’s who observed Eid in Pratap Park to press for their genuine demands. If the Governor’s Advisor assured our leadership that 7th pay commission for ReT’s will be implemented from September then why this delay,” said JKReTF President, Farooq Ahmad Tantray.

He said the government is duty-bound to implement 7th pay commission in favor of ReT’s failing which they will camp outside the winter secretariat Jammu in protest.

“We will be camping outside winter secretariat incase our demands are not fulfilled till 10th of this month,”

He also demanded that their salaries be delinked from Ministry of Human Resources Development with state sector besides time bound promotion and regularization of ReT’s.

“We again want to make it clear that we don’t want to confront, we still hope that the government will come up with a roadmap with regards to our demands,” said Tantray.
