The slogan shouting employees who had assembled under the banner of JK Cement Employees Association (JKCEA) said the authorities have for the last five months withheld their salaries despite the fact that employees discharge their duties regularly.

They asked the government to release their pending salary failing which they will lockdown the head office in protest.

Protesting employees alleged that the concerned authorities on the instructions of Governor’s Advisor have withheld their salaries which they said is now being utilized to purchase raw material for cement manufacturing.

“Our salary and five months central Provident Fund is pending, when we approached our Director he said the salary of employees as per the instructions of Governor’s Advisor will be utilized for purchasing raw material. This is shocking and excruciating,” said Javaid Ahmad President (JKCEA).

The employee’s leader said why don’t the government instead of forcing poor employees and their families for starvation use budgetary funds for purchasing raw material.
