Kupwara: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara Abhishek Sharma has directed officials to resolve pending inter-departmental issues and execution-related bottlenecks within 14 days to accelerate developmental projects under the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

Chairing a review meeting on Monday, the DDC assessed the physical and financial progress of ongoing projects and stressed the need to improve last-mile connectivity, particularly in remote and border areas.

The Superintending Engineer, Roads and Buildings (R&B) Circle Kupwara, presented the status of NABARD-funded projects under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) phases 27, 29, 30 and 31. Key projects, including Galizoo Stadium and Bohipora Bridge, were reviewed, with directions to expedite their execution.

Reviewing procedural delays, Sharma directed the Forest Department to ensure timely submission of online clearances through the PARIVESH portal. He also called for Essential Details Sought (EDS) queries to be raised in a single instance rather than through repeated submissions to avoid delays.

The Forest Department was asked to expedite clearances under the Forest Rights Act (FRA), while the Assistant Commissioner Revenue was directed to resolve pending land-related issues and facilitate the transfer of land required for project execution.

The DDC also reviewed road connectivity under the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP) and PMGSY, highlighting the need to improve access to remote border habitations, particularly Keran, Machil and Amroohi.

He directed Executive Engineers to personally inspect project sites, assess the quality of works and submit action-taken reports.
