He directed the departments to complete ongoing projects within stipulated timelines while maintaining quality standards, stressing that delays in execution prevent people from receiving the intended benefits of government schemes.

Reviewing road macadamisation, the Speaker said the available working season was nearing its end, leaving limited time to complete the works. He called for close supervision and timely intervention to ensure completion before winter without compromising quality.

Rather also asked officials to expedite the tendering and allotment of pending works so that their execution could begin without further delay. He stressed greater accountability, regular monitoring and coordination among departments to address bottlenecks.

The meeting reviewed Public Works Department projects under District Capex, UT Capex, NABARD, Bridges, C&T and SASCI, besides Rural Development Department works under DDC, BDC, PRI, ADBP, CDF, CDP, Swachh Bharat Mission and other schemes.

The meeting was attended by the Superintending Engineer, Budgam; Assistant Commissioners Development and Panchayat, Budgam; executive engineers of the Public Works Department and Rural Engineering Wing; and block development officers from Budgam, Charar-i-Sharief, Nagam, Pakherpora, Chadoora, Surasyar and Parnewa, among others.
