BJP holds Seva Jyoti Yatra, Viksit Bharat events across J&K

JAMMU: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday organised ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ and ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ programmes across Jammu and Kashmir as part of its ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan marking 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public life.

The main programme was held at KK Resort in Jammu, where BJP Jammu and Kashmir president and Rajya Sabha member Sat Sharma, party General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, several legislators, office-bearers, workers and supporters participated and listened to the Prime Minister’s address during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha.

According to the BJP, participants pledged to promote the messages of public service, patriotism, public participation and nation-building among the people.

Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma said the Seva Jyoti Yatra was intended to take the message of service and national commitment to different sections of society. He said Modi’s 25-year public life reflected a commitment to public welfare, national development and self-reliance.

Sharma said the party’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan aimed to encourage greater public participation in the goal of building a developed India and asserted that achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat required active involvement of citizens alongside government efforts.

As part of the programme in Jammu, the Seva Jyoti Yatra proceeded from KK Resort to Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Chowk, where BJP leaders paid floral tributes at the statue of the party ideologue.

In Kashmir, Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Sunil Sharma, BJP General Secretary Mohammad Anwar Khan and Kulgam district president Farooq Ahmad Ashmuji participated in a similar programme in Kulgam.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Sharma said Modi’s public life served as an inspiration for party workers and called upon them to remain connected with people and contribute towards nation-building.

The BJP said similar events were organised across several districts of the Union Territory.

In Udhampur, Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh participated in the Seva Jyoti Yatra from Broadway Plaza to Raju Filling Station at Gol Mela. In Samba, Lok Sabha member Jugal Kishore Sharma, BJP vice-president Rekha Mahajan and legislators Chander Prakash Ganga, Surjit Singh Salathia and Devinder Kumar Manyal attended a Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha at Sarore.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and senior BJP leader Sanjay Kumar Baru led the programme in Kathua, while party General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria and district president Neelam Langeh participated in events in Ramban.

In Reasi, BJP General Secretary Gopal Mahajan, MLA Kuldeep Raj Dubey, Baldev Raj Sharma and district president Rohit Dubey attended the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha along with party workers and supporters.
