CHHAMB: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Youth Services and Sports, and Science and Technology, Satish Sharma on Saturday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a series of development projects worth more than ₹3 crore in the Chhamb Assembly constituency.
The projects, aimed at improving connectivity, protection infrastructure, community facilities and educational infrastructure, were launched during the minister’s tour of several villages and habitations in the constituency.
According to officials, the works include roads, culverts, drainage systems, protection works, community infrastructure and educational facilities.
At Kodewala Migrant Colony, Sharma laid the foundation stone for a park and inaugurated newly constructed drains. He also laid the foundation stone for a link road connecting Kharah and Thanda Choa.
In Village Kalah, the minister inaugurated protection works near the residence of former panch Madan Lal and at Mohalla Chatyala. Similar protection works on the Mageri-Rajani Road were also inaugurated at Mohalla Thakur Dass.
At Village Jawan, Sharma laid the foundation stone for a culvert near Atta Chakki and inaugurated a community hall.
During his visit to Dhakkar, he inaugurated protection works on the Narbeda-Dhakkar link road, a community hall and a culvert, besides laying the foundation stone for an examination hall at Government Higher Secondary School, Dhakkar.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said infrastructure development should directly benefit people and called for timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards. He stressed the importance of road connectivity, drainage systems, protection works and community facilities in rural areas.
The minister also interacted with residents and heard their demands and grievances. He assured them that genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned departments for appropriate action.
Sharma directed executing agencies to ensure timely implementation of projects and maintain close coordination with local stakeholders during execution of development works.
