JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) on Sunday held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Jammu after a gap of nearly 10 years, with 15 authorised club members participating in the proceedings.
The meeting was attended by office-bearers and members of the association, who reviewed recent developments in J&K cricket and discussed preparations for the upcoming Irani Cup.
According to the association, members highlighted recent achievements, including Jammu and Kashmir’s Ranji Trophy victory, the selection of players from the Union Territory for the Indian national team and the increasing presence of J&K cricketers in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The AGM also reviewed arrangements for the Irani Cup, scheduled to be played at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar from October 1 to 5. Officials said preparations were underway to ensure the smooth conduct of the prestigious domestic fixture.
Participants emphasised the need for cooperation among stakeholders to further strengthen cricket in Jammu and Kashmir and discussed measures to build on recent successes in the sport.
