SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department on Tuesday forecast generally cloudy weather with brief spells of rain, thundershowers and gusty winds at many places across Jammu and Kashmir over the next two days.

According to the MeT Centre Srinagar, weather conditions are likely to remain unsettled on September 16 and 17, while predominantly dry weather is expected across the Union Territory from September 18 to 25, except for brief rain spells at isolated locations.

The department has also issued an advisory warning of thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds at a few places between September 15 and 17.

Farmers have been advised to safely store harvested crops and plan harvesting of apples, paddy and other agricultural produce, along with related farm operations, from September 18 onwards when weather conditions are expected to improve.
