Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) on Monday released Reejhan De Jharney, a Punjabi ghazal collection authored by writer Ajit Singh Mastana, at a literary function held at the Academy Complex in Srinagar.
The event brought together writers, scholars and literary enthusiasts who discussed Mastana’s contribution to Punjabi literature and reviewed various aspects of his latest work.
Speakers at the programme highlighted the themes, literary style and creative dimensions of the ghazal collection, while also reflecting on Mastana’s literary journey and his role in promoting Punjabi language and literature.
JKAACL Secretary Harvinder Kour said the Academy remains committed to encouraging writers and preserving the region’s literary heritage. Other speakers, including Prof. Gurcharan Singh Raina, S. Jaipal Singh and literary scholars, also spoke about Mastana’s contribution to Punjabi literature.
The author thanked the Academy for supporting literary activities and writers from different linguistic backgrounds. He also recited selected ghazals from the newly released collection during the programme.
