Baramulla: A ₹30 lakh project for fencing and beautification of the Ziyarat Hazrat Nizam-ud-Din (RA) at Ladoora in Rafiabad was launched on Sunday, with authorities aiming to improve infrastructure and visitor facilities at the revered shrine.
The project, to be executed by the PW(R&B) Rafiabad Division, includes fencing and development of the shrine premises to enhance its surroundings and facilitate devotees and visitors.
Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Minister Javid Ahmad Dar laid the foundation stone for the works and directed the executing agency to ensure adherence to quality standards while maintaining the aesthetics and sanctity of the religious site.
He said religious and heritage sites form an integral part of Jammu and Kashmir’s social and cultural fabric and stressed the need for timely completion of the project so that its benefits reach devotees and the local community without delay.
Addressing the gathering, Dar referred to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), describing them as a source of guidance centred on peace, compassion, tolerance, mutual respect and brotherhood. He said promotion of social harmony and brotherhood remains among the core teachings of Islam and urged people to draw inspiration from these values in their daily lives.
The minister also interacted with local residents and representatives during the visit and received feedback on various developmental issues in the area. He assured them that their genuine concerns would be examined and addressed on priority.
Officials from the concerned departments, local representatives and prominent citizens were present at the event.
