Srinagar: Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several areas of Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam districts between September 2 and September 5 to facilitate maintenance works on transmission lines and grid infrastructure.
According to KPDCL, power supply to Nowpora, Bohri Kadal, Barbarshah, Babademb, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Basant Bagh, Naisarak, Exchange, Car Parking, Maisuma and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on September 2 and September 5 due to shutdown of the 33 kV Bemina–Fateh Kadal and Bemina–Barbarshah lines.
Power supply to Miskeen Bagh, Rosebal, Hazaribagh, Kondebal, Hasanabad, Jogilanker, Palpora, Sangam, JLNM Hospital and adjoining areas will remain affected from 1 pm to 4 pm on September 3 and September 4 owing to shutdown of the 33 kV Khanyar and Baghi Ali Mardan Khan–Takanwari lines.
In Ganderbal district, electricity supply to Kurhama, Yangpora, Baroosa, Old Dab, Sainik School, Rabitar, Kondbal, GCET Safapora, Lar, Waliwar, Watlar, Repora, Tulmulla, Dangerpora, Theeru, Larsun, Safapora, Central University, Gratbal and several adjoining areas will remain disrupted from 10 am to 2 pm on September 3 due to shutdown of the 132/33 kV grid substation and switchyard at Badampora.
Similarly, power supply to Sogam, Rapora, Chadoora town, Chadoora Hospital, Wathoora, Bugam, Dawlatpora, Gadsathoo, Panzan, Ranger, Laalgam, Kathairgund and adjoining areas in Budgam district will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on September 3 and September 5 because of shutdown of the 33 kV Nowbugh–Chadoora line.
KPDCL further said electricity supply to Bonpora, Astanpora, Wadwan, Cheki Hathran, Hanjikpora, Dharmuna, Russu, Gotpora, Narbal, Kawoosa, Lawaypora, Suzaith, Sanoor, Malpora, Redbugh, Mazhama Railway Station and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on September 5 due to shutdown of the 33 kV Shariefabad–Wadwan Tapline and Shariefabad–Narbal line.
The utility said the shutdowns are being undertaken to carry out maintenance and related works on the power infrastructure.
