JAMMU: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday finalised plans for a month-long “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, with programmes scheduled from September 17 to October 17.
The campaign was discussed during a series of meetings chaired by BJP J&K president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. The meetings also reviewed upcoming activities of the party’s Kisan Morcha and Mahila Morcha.
According to party leaders, the campaign will include blood donation camps and other social welfare activities aimed at public outreach and service.
Addressing the meetings, Sharma said the party would observe the Prime Minister’s birthday through public service initiatives and welfare programmes. He urged party workers to take government schemes and welfare initiatives to people at the grassroots level and ensure outreach to eligible beneficiaries.
He also directed the Kisan Morcha and Mahila Morcha to strengthen engagement with farmers, women and other sections of society and help address public concerns through awareness of government programmes.
BJP J&K general secretaries Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, Kisan Morcha president Rakesh Pant, Mahila Morcha president Neha Mahajan and other party functionaries attended the meetings.
Billawaria said the campaign would focus on welfare activities and public outreach, while Mahajan said it would also help party workers connect with people and understand local issues.
