Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday met Arvind Mattoo, founder of US-based non-governmental organisation (NGO) koshurRAAG, who briefed him on the organisation’s efforts to promote the cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir through music and related arts.
During the meeting, Mattoo also presented a proposal for a new musical initiative aimed at strengthening cultural engagement in the Union Territory. The proposal builds on the success of koshurRAAG’s 2024 event in Srinagar, which paid tribute to Kashmir’s noted musicians and maestros.
Padma Shri Dr S.P. Varma was also present during the meeting.
Later, a delegation of senior members of the Hindu Education Society Kashmir, led by its President Prof. B.L. Zutshi, also called on the Lieutenant Governor.
