SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday met a delegation of the J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides, led by its Senior Vice President, Prof. Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Nikka, at the Raj Bhawan.
According to an official statement, the delegation raised several issues concerning the strengthening of the Bharat Scouts & Guides movement in the Union Territory. These included the establishment of a dedicated training centre, enhancement of grant-in-aid, inclusion of Bharat Scouts & Guides under the sports category, and creation of a Scouts & Guides Fund on the lines of the Red Cross Fund.
In separate meetings, senior BJP leader and former Kulgam district president Zubair Ganie called on the Lieutenant Governor and discussed various issues of public importance.
Another delegation, led by BJP Youth President Baramulla Shafqat Abdullah, also met the Lieutenant Governor and highlighted issues related to sports infrastructure, welfare of minority communities, youth empowerment and other developmental concerns in Baramulla, the statement said.
