SRINAGAR: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday held separate organisational meetings of its Baramulla and Bandipora district units at the party headquarters here to review organisational affairs and discuss measures to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
The meetings were chaired by PDP General Secretary (Organisation) Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura and attended by General Secretary Mohammad Khursheed Aalam, former ministers Naeem Akhtar and Basarat Bukhari, Women’s Wing president Anjum Fazili, Additional General Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Bhat and party spokesperson Syed Tajamul Islam.
The Baramulla meeting was attended by district president Mohammad Rafique Rather, Rafiabad constituency in-charge Altaf Malik, district secretary Javed Ahmad, Women’s Coordinator Baramulla Asifa Ara and other party functionaries.
The Bandipora meeting was attended by district president Syed Sajad Hussain, North Kashmir Youth Secretary Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, Bandipora zonal president Naseer Ahmad Mir, Sonawari zonal president Mohammad Tahir Qadri, Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Khan and other office-bearers.
According to the party, the leadership reviewed the organisational structure and functioning of the two district units and discussed expanding public outreach, strengthening district and zonal committees, improving coordination among workers and enhancing engagement with the public.
Addressing the meetings, the party leaders urged office-bearers and workers to strengthen the organisation and intensify outreach across North Kashmir. They also reiterated the PDP’s commitment to safeguarding the constitutional rights, identity and democratic aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
