Srinagar: Secretary (Technical), Agriculture Production Department, G. A. Sofi, on Friday reviewed the progress of developmental schemes being implemented by the Animal Husbandry Department, Kashmir, and stressed the need for efficient service delivery and administrative accountability.
Chairing a review meeting, Sofi assessed the physical and financial progress under various schemes, including the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS), Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme, Mobile Veterinary Units, Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), CAPEX works and NABARD-funded projects.
According to an official statement, Deputy Director Central, Dr Reyaz Nazir Reshi, presented an overview of the progress achieved under the various programmes.
The Secretary directed officers to expedite expenditure and ensure timely completion of approved works and projects.
Emphasising improved governance, he instructed officers to maintain updated official records, ensure punctuality and conduct regular field visits to monitor departmental functioning and staff attendance at field offices.
Sofi also directed that no officer or official should leave the office during working hours or travel abroad without prior approval from the competent authority.
He said the measures were aimed at improving administrative efficiency, ensuring effective implementation of departmental programmes and strengthening veterinary and livestock services for farmers across Kashmir.
