Baramulla: The District Administration Baramulla conducted a three-day field outreach programme under the Vibrant Villages Programme-II (VVP-II), during which district-level officers undertook mandatory 24-hour stays in 18 identified border villages to assess development works and public service delivery.

According to an official statement, the initiative was undertaken on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, S.F. Hamid, to enable senior officers to interact directly with residents and obtain first-hand feedback on developmental needs and implementation of government schemes.

The officers stayed overnight in villages across the border blocks of Uri, Boniyar, Bijhama and Paranpeela, where they inspected ongoing developmental works and reviewed the implementation of various flagship schemes.

They also assessed the availability of essential services, including roads, electricity, drinking water, healthcare, education, mobile connectivity and other public amenities.

During the visits, the officers interacted with Panchayati Raj Institution representatives, village-level nodal officers, frontline workers, youth, women, senior citizens and other residents to understand their concerns and gather feedback on developmental gaps.

The administration said the overnight stays enabled officers to assess village conditions during both day and night, providing a better understanding of the quality of public services and civic amenities.

Several public grievances were addressed on the spot, while issues requiring departmental intervention were documented for follow-up. The findings will form the basis of a district-level action plan aimed at improving infrastructure, public services and livelihood opportunities in the identified Vibrant Villages.

Additional District Development Commissioner Pranjal J. Hazarika, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore S.A. Raina, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Syed Altaf Hussain Musvi, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Uri Prince Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Arshad Ahmad Khan, Chief Planning Officer Nisar Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development Mudasir Ahmad, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pattan Gulzar Ahmad, District Information Officer Iftakhar Naseem and other district officers led the outreach teams.
