SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Thursday inspected the under-construction Seerbagh–Sempora Bridge in Srinagar and directed the executing agency to expedite the remaining work to ensure the project is completed and opened to the public at the earliest.
During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the progress and quality of the ongoing construction works in the presence of Chief Engineer, PWD Central Kashmir Narinder Kumar, Superintending Engineer Iram Lone and other senior officers.
Emphasising timely completion, Choudhary instructed officials to maintain the highest quality standards while adhering to the stipulated timeline. He noted that the bridge has entered its final phase and stressed the need to speed up the remaining work.
He said the bridge would significantly improve connectivity and ease travel for residents of Seerbagh, Sempora, Summerbugh and adjoining areas of Chadoora, Pampore and Srinagar, besides reducing travel time, improving access to essential services and boosting economic activity in the region.
The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to developing modern and resilient infrastructure and directed officials to ensure the bridge is made operational without unnecessary delay.
