Under the MoU, the two institutions will collaborate on specialised training programmes for SDRF personnel, jointly certify academic and training courses, and support the strengthening of disaster management training centres in the Union Territory.
The partnership will also involve organising workshops, seminars, lectures and short-term training programmes to facilitate knowledge sharing and professional development in disaster management and emergency response.
In addition, the agreement provides for joint research initiatives, exchange of faculty members and sharing of academic resources and scholarly information to promote innovation and learning in disaster management practices.
The MoU was signed at the office of A. G. Mir in Srinagar.
Officials said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to building a more resilient Jammu and Kashmir through improved preparedness, skilled manpower and research-driven solutions. By integrating academic knowledge with field experience, the two institutions aim to strengthen disaster response mechanisms and enhance community safety across the Union Territory.
