ANANTNAG: The Private Schools Association (PSA), Anantnag, conducted its district elections in a cordial and organised atmosphere, resulting in the unanimous election of Er. Mehmood Ahmad Wani as District President and Ejaz Ahmad Wani as District General Secretary.
The elections were held under the patronage of G.N. War and witnessed the participation of the association’s central leadership.
State President Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Senior Vice President Manzoor Ahmad, General Secretary Mohammad Saeed Wani and Director Media and Communication Dr. Owais Ahmad attended the election process as special guests.
The elections were supervised by the District Election Commission comprising Altaf Ahmad Khan, Javed Ahmad Wani, Dr. Abdul Qayoom Dar and Arif Hussain.
According to the election results, Er. Mehmood Ahmad Wani was unanimously elected as District President, while Ejaz Ahmad Wani was elected unopposed as District General Secretary.
Under powers vested in the Election Commission, Dr. Abdul Qayoom Dar was nominated as District Organiser, Zameer Ahmad as District Vice President and Javed Ahmad Wani as District Treasurer.
During the meeting, participants discussed various issues and challenges faced by private educational institutions in the district.
Speakers observed that the association’s central leadership has consistently worked towards safeguarding the interests of private schools and advocating for the resolution of issues confronting the education sector.
The newly elected district office bearers expressed confidence in the present central leadership and reiterated their commitment to organisational unity and collective efforts for the welfare of private educational institutions.
They also pledged to work towards addressing the concerns of member schools and strengthening efforts aimed at promoting quality education across the district.
The event concluded with felicitation of the newly elected office bearers, with participants expressing hope that the new district team would effectively represent private educational institutions in Anantnag and work towards resolving their issues.
