During the visit, the DC was accompanied by senior officers from the Revenue, Roads and Buildings, PDD and PHE departments.

While reviewing the status of works at the transit accommodation site, officials informed the DC that the project consists of 39 accommodation blocks comprising a total of 936 flats.

Out of these, construction of 33 blocks has been completed, while finishing works on the remaining six blocks are underway.

The DC was informed that allied infrastructure works including boundary wall, dormitory, security pickets, community hall, pipe culverts and interior roads have already been completed.

Officials further informed that all 39 distribution transformers and related power infrastructure have been installed, while water supply to the accommodation facility has also been made functional.

During the inspection, Akshay Labroo reviewed the status of lift installation works and was informed that 10 lifts have already been commissioned.

He directed the executing agency to complete lift installation in 16 additional blocks at the earliest.

The deputy commissioner also instructed the Roads and Buildings Department to initiate macadamisation works on approach roads and stressed the need for close coordination among departments for timely completion of the project.

Later, the DC visited Panthachowk to inspect the ongoing construction of the new Tehsil Office complex being executed by the Roads and Buildings Department.

Officials informed him that nearly 90 percent work on the new Tehsil Office building has been completed.

The new complex will house the Tehsildar’s courtroom, Naib Tehsildar office, establishment section, record room and a waiting area for visitors.

The deputy commissioner directed the executing agency to accelerate the pace of work and ensure completion of the project by the first week of June 2026 so that the building can be handed over to the Tehsil administration for improved public service delivery and better working facilities for staff.
