During the meeting, the deputy chief minister stressed the need for prompt public service delivery, strong developmental initiatives and effective public outreach for timely redressal of grievances.

He directed officers to remain accessible to the people and ensure time-bound disposal of public welfare and developmental issues.

Reviewing ongoing infrastructure projects, Surinder Choudhary emphasised quality execution and timely completion of works and instructed officials to conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to prescribed guidelines and standard operating procedures.

The deputy chief minister also reviewed the status of road connectivity projects in Uri and said nearly 20 road projects had been undertaken in the area during the past one-and-a-half years, while additional projects are in the pipeline.

He said developmental initiatives should improve connectivity and living standards in remote villages and reiterated the government’s commitment to providing facilities in villages at par with urban areas.

While reviewing gypsum mining operations in the region, he directed officials to ensure transparency and environmental safeguards and stressed that mining activities should directly benefit local communities.

The deputy chief minister further directed officials to expedite road works under SASCI and permanent restoration projects and instructed that mining funds be effectively utilised for road repairs and macadamisation.

He also stressed the need for uninterrupted drinking water and electricity supply to villages and directed authorities to organise labour card registration drives to ensure maximum coverage of workers under welfare schemes and social security initiatives.
