Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Awantipora and Anantnag and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police spokesperson informed that Bashir Ahmad Ganie of Dar Gani Gund, and Mohammad Yousef Ganie of Yangwani Aripal, were arrested at Darganiegund after 1.89 Kgs of a cannabis-like substance was recovered from their possession.
In Anantnag, police during checking at Tulkhan Crossing, arrested Abdul Gani Sofi of Sethar Sangam after 102 grams of cannabis in the form of sticks, concealed in corn husk, was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant provisions of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigation has been taken up.
