Police hold mini marathon, anti-drug awareness progs in Baramulla, Awantipora

Srinagar: Police on Sunday organised a series of awareness programmes in Baramulla and Awantipora under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan to spread awareness about drug abuse and promote a drug-free society.

In Baramulla, Police Station Chandoosa in collaboration with Government Higher Secondary School Kachu organised a mini marathon aimed at sensitising youth about the harmful effects of drugs and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Students and staff members participated enthusiastically in the event and raised slogans promoting a drug-free society.

A separate drug awareness programme was also organised at Government High School Nagbal, which was attended by the ZEO Chandoosa, teachers, students and local residents.

During the session, speakers highlighted the social and psychological impact of substance abuse and stressed the importance of collective community efforts in eradicating the drug menace.

In Awantipora, Police Station Pampore organised an awareness programme with religious leaders and prominent residents of the area.

Participants were sensitised about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the need for collective action to eliminate narcotics from society.

Police officers highlighted the role of religious leaders and community members in guiding youth, spreading awareness and promoting a drug-free environment.

The participants pledged their support and assured cooperation in strengthening anti-drug efforts and building a safer society free from narcotics.
