DC Kulgam reviews functioning of RDD, MGNREGA implementation

KULGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, today reviewed the functioning of the Rural Development Department (RDD) with a special focus on the implementation of MGNREGA across the district.

During the meeting, the DC emphasised the need for proper identification and registration of all eligible workers under MGNREGA to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach every deserving household. He directed the concerned officers to intensify awareness and outreach efforts to cover left-out beneficiaries.

Highlighting the importance of sustainable development, the DC stressed the creation of durable and productive public assets under MGNREGA.

The DC also instructed officers to maintain transparency in execution, ensure timely payment of wages to workers, and improve the overall quality of work on the ground.

The meeting was attended by ACD, Bilal Ahmad Kamgar and other officers.
