During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to ensure seamless execution of assigned responsibilities with utmost coordination and synergy for the successful conduct of the event. He stressed the need for streamlining the padyatra route with robust security arrangements and ensuring large-scale public participation.

Dr. Bhat said the padyatra is a significant component of the ongoing 100-day campaign and will witness the participation of top dignitaries, amplifying the message against drug abuse. He emphasised making the rally inclusive and vibrant through broad-based participation from all sections of society.

He called for active involvement of social organisations, NGOs, professionals, youth, students, volunteers, progressive farmers, Self Help Groups (SHGs), civil society members, associations, public representatives and government institutions to deliver a strong and unified message against substance abuse. He also directed departments to finalise mobilisation and de-induction plans in a systematic manner.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to ensure the advance installation of all required facilities and logistics for the smooth conduct of the event. Urban Local Bodies were directed to install adequate mobile toilets, while concerned agencies were asked to ensure provision of drinking water, medical facilities and other essential services along the route and at the venue.

All departments were directed to prepare the venue and route in accordance with standard operating procedures and to designate nodal officers for effective coordination and timely execution of arrangements.

The Mega Padyatra is expected to be a major milestone in the district’s ongoing anti-drug campaign, aimed at mobilising youth and local communities in the fight against substance abuse.
