Ganderbal: The All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC), a premier registered organisation working towards strengthening grassroots democracy in Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday launched a comprehensive anti-drug awareness campaign in Ganderbal district.
A significant meeting and awareness programme was organised under the AJKPC banner, witnessing participation from Sarpanchs, Panchs, Naib Sarpanchs, former Panchs and Sarpanchs, BDC and DDC representatives, along with a large number of local youth.
During the programme, participants collectively pledged to work in coordination with AJKPC to make Ganderbal drug-free and to take strict action against drug peddlers. They expressed strong resolve to eradicate all forms of illegal drugs, including “chitta,” from the grassroots level.
On the occasion, AJKPC President Anil Sharma said,
“We will not allow the future of our youth and coming generations to be compromised. The energy of our youth will be channelised towards nation-building and the development of Jammu & Kashmir. The youth of Ganderbal will work hand in hand with the police and administration to eliminate drug abuse.”
He added that AJKPC is actively conducting awareness campaigns from Panchayat to Block and District levels across the Kashmir division to mobilise public support against drug abuse.
Sharma further said that the organisation is committed to strengthening the anti-drug mission in line with the vision of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. He assured that AJKPC, in collaboration with its members, youth, administration, and police, will go to every extent necessary to eliminate the drug menace from Jammu and Kashmir.
Former Panchs, Sarpanchs, and other representatives also spoke on the occasion, reaffirming their commitment to work collectively under the AJKPC banner and in coordination with the administration to make the campaign successful.
The programme also witnessed active participation from Jammu & Kashmir Police, further reinforcing the initiative.
Prominent attendees included Ishfaq Ahmad Raina, Haji Bhudur Din, Hussain Balti, Altaf Ahmad, Shakeel Ahmed Gojra, Haji Abdul Ahad Nike, Mushtaq Ahmed Raina, Aqib Yousuf Lone, Yasir Ahmad Raina, Tawseef Ahmad Raina, Shayadi Ahmad Bhat, and Yasir Hameed.
