The statement said that a review meeting was subsequently held at the Conference Hall of DPL Bandipora. Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora, Ajaz Ahmad Zargar, welcomed the DIG and briefed him on the overall functioning of the district police. He also introduced officers present, including DySP Headquarters, SDPOs of Sumbal and Gurez, DySP SOG Hajin/Bandipora, DySP DAR, SHOs, and other officials.

During the meeting, Sub-Divisional Police Officers and DySP SOGs presented detailed briefings on the crime scenario, security situation, and operational preparedness, highlighting recent trends and measures taken to maintain law and order.

The DIG emphasised the need for constant vigilance and called for timely, intelligence-based operations to prevent any potential disturbances. He stressed enhanced coordination among units and sustained efforts to ensure peace and stability in the district.

“He also directed officers to intensify efforts under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan by strengthening enforcement against drug trafficking and expanding public awareness initiatives,” the statement said.

The DIG further underscored the importance of regular training and preparedness of police personnel, particularly those deployed in SOG units, to effectively tackle emerging challenges.

Later, he visited sensitive and hotspot areas in the district and also held an interaction with senior Army officers, the statement added.
