Jammu: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Wednesday inaugurated the Jammu and Kashmir Security Operations Centre (JK SOC), a key step towards strengthening the Union Territory’s cybersecurity framework.

The centre has been set up to provide round-the-clock monitoring, threat detection and incident response, aimed at protecting critical government systems and sensitive data from cyber threats.

The inauguration was attended by senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary (Financial Commissioner) Revenue Shaleen Kabra; Principal Secretary Home Chandraker Bharti; Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar; Secretary IT Dr. Piyush Singla; Director General NIC VTV Ramana; CEO, J&K e-Governance Agency Mahima Madan; and SIO NIC J&K J. S. Modi.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary said that with the rapid expansion of digital governance, ensuring strong cyber security systems has become essential. He described the SOC as a central hub that will help secure the UT’s digital infrastructure while ensuring smooth and safe delivery of e-governance services to citizens.

The JK SOC is equipped with advanced tools for real-time threat intelligence, vulnerability assessment and security analytics. It will also work closely with national agencies such as the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) to strengthen cyber incident management.

Earlier, Senior Director NIC Anil Kumar Sharma gave a detailed presentation on the centre’s features and capabilities.

Senior officers from the IT Department, divisional administration Jammu and technical experts were also present during the inauguration.
