Organised by Kala Kendra Jammu under the aegis of the Department of Culture, the exhibition drew artists, writers, poets and officials, creating a lively cultural atmosphere.

In his address, the Chief Secretary praised the depth and sensitivity of Wahule’s work, noting that his paintings contribute to environmental awareness while fostering a strong emotional connection with nature. He stressed the need for cultural institutions to engage younger generations with their heritage and said Kala Kendra would be supported to grow into a vibrant cultural hub. He also appreciated the institution’s administration for revitalising it into an active centre of art and cultural activities.

Speaking on the occasion, Brij Mohan Sharma said that while Wahule is known as an efficient officer, his artistic work is equally impressive and deserves wider recognition. He added that efforts are underway to fully utilise the galleries at Kala Kendra as originally envisioned.

Welcoming the guests, Dr. Javaid Rahi said the exhibition aims to provide a platform for artists in Jammu and Kashmir to engage with contemporary art through Wahule’s work. He informed that around 40 artworks are on display at the Master Sansar Chand Gallery.

Sharing his journey, Pradeep Wahule said he is a self-taught artist who developed a passion for fine arts early in life, drawing inspiration from nature and the works of renowned masters over three decades.

The exhibition has been curated by Rashmi Rao, who said this is the sixth state or Union Territory where the show is being presented. She expressed hope that art lovers and the public will visit the gallery during the exhibition.

The programme was conducted by Kusam Ticko. The exhibition will remain open to the public for three days.
