Baramulla: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, a padyatra and awareness programme was organised in Rafiabad’s Panzlla and adjoining panchayats on Wednesday, led by Assistant Commissioner Development Baramulla, Mudasir Hussain.
The event saw active participation from officials, local residents and youth, all coming together to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of building a drug-free society.
Addressing the participants, the ACD stressed that tackling substance abuse requires a collective effort. He urged young people to stay away from drugs and play a proactive role in shaping a healthier and more progressive community.
Alongside the padyatra, awareness sessions were held focusing on preventive measures and the role of community involvement in curbing addiction.
The programme concluded with participants taking a pledge to support the vision of a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said similar activities are being carried out across the district under the 100-day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, aimed at strengthening awareness and community engagement at the grassroots level.
