Gulmarg: MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah on Monday attended the inauguration of the five-day national painting camp, “Vision Bharat 2026”, at Gulmarg as the chief guest.
Birj Mohan Sharma was present as the guest of honour.
The camp is being organised by the North Zone Cultural Centre in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
Renowned artists from different states are participating in the camp and will depict the theme “Vision Bharat 2026” through their artwork while also portraying the natural beauty of Gulmarg.
During the event, Farooq Ahmad Shah and other dignitaries interacted with artists from Jammu and Kashmir and other states and reviewed their works.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA appreciated the initiative and said such programmes help promote art, culture and the national vision through creative expression.
He also urged the participating artists to act as ambassadors in their respective states and promote the tourism, art and culture of Gulmarg.
Also present on the occasion were Ravinder Sharma and Adeel Saleem.
Later, under his public outreach programme “Aapki Awaaz, Hamari Zimmedari”, Farooq Ahmad Shah visited several villages in the Tangmarg block, including Chandilora, Badipora, Kilwara, Heriwatnoo, Kralpora, Heer, Sunlipora, Bichipora and Ratnipora.
During the visit, he listened to public grievances and assured the residents that their issues would be taken up and addressed on priority.
The MLA also inaugurated a kindergarten at the Government Primary School in Kilwara during his visit.
